It has been a long road since I took the time to write an article and there was a good reason for that. As I pursue my journey in TriBeCa, I made my first step in the financial markets as a personal investor and as you can guess it requires a lot of study to strengthen your skills.
Yes acquiring new skills takes time, study, energy. Is it exciting? For sure learning something new is always exciting and sometimes requires some sacrifice. Like not being able to publish all the articles and ideas that are pending and buzzing in my mind.
My focus during this last year has been the stock market.
Is it worthy? Only the future will say.
Is it risky? It’s as risky as the world we’re living in and like many of you guys I’m facing a lot of uncertainty these days.
Here are some ideas of tools that I found interesting to start and implement a strategy.
Robinhood – a stock brokerage that allows customers to buy and sell U.S. listed stocks and ETFs with $0 commission. They believe that everyone should have access to the financial markets and are on a mission to inspire a new generation of investors.
missingSTEP – a leading investment analysis tool provider for the mobile market. They provide their users with a variety of tools through a range of online platforms, mobile devices and email services.
Yahoo! Finance which is now one of the brand of the recent Verizon company Oath started last summer remains the major source of financial news, data and commentary. Beside posting partner content, it also posts some original content. In addition it offers some online tools.
Companies’ websites and more precisely their Investor relations pages are in my opinion some of the first sources of information to tap when you start to be really interested in building a “relationship” with them.
You guys might know or guess that I’m an Apple fan and an ante penultimate tool is Apple News which is my go-to news feed for general and more specific news alike. As you can imagine, the companies I’m interested in are obviously amongst the topics I choose to follow.
All of this stuff is a lot of information to process and read and it can keep you very busy if you’re not organized. For some of us it could seem very abstract and something best left to professionals but in my approach I feel like it keeps me very well aware of the world that we’re living in.
The most important thing is to implement a methodology that fits with your style and stick with it for a while. Patience is the key.
Look forward and don’t have regrets.
I know this story might not seem sexy for some of my readers but I’ll be happy to share my ideas further.
Thanks for reading, and cheers to new beginnings,
Florent
